After my breathing problems in early June, I was instructed to take it easy and not do anything strenuous for at least 6 weeks. That deadline came and went some weeks ago and although I’d planned to do a test run several times in that period, with everything going on with our move, it had not come to pass.
However, things were a little quieter today, the start of the Labor Day weekend here in Texas, so I ventured out for a very slow run along the beach to watch the sunrise.
I think it was worth it 🙂

In my last run back at the beginning of June, I struggled to get my heart rate past about 145 bpm without difficulty breathing. Today I was pushing 165-169 bpm, and although I was running VERY slowly (in my defence, it was along the sand 😉 ) I am confident this was just a lack of fitness, rather than any continuing medical issue! The breathlessness I had previously did not present itself at all during today’s run. My left calf was a little tight while running, but this subsided immediately upon stopping, so I would also put this down to a lack of fitness, having not run properly since December.
Onwards and upwards.
Incredibly happy for you, MSL. X xxxx
